Question 1
Basic Algorithm, programming languages related questions (e.g what is the default sorting algorithm in Python)
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LINE (Taipei)
Interview
I have had several interview experiences in different countries (Taiwan, US, Europe, Hong Kong, China...) but I got the worst experience on this one!
The interview lasted around 2 hours including a 1 hour test.
It began with a 1 hour test, which is not too difficult. The test consists of 7 questions and they are not expected you to answer all of them. Then, 3 people (2 engineers and 1 hiring manager) came in and I was asked to gave them a introduction. They dived my resume in very detail so my suggestion is to well recap your past project and resume before the interview.
There are not many questions regarding the test -- I guess it's because I managed to answer most of them (well). Apart from the exam questions, most interview questions focused on my past experiences and projects. During the whole interview, it seems like one engineer (I guess he is at principle level) tried to bring down the interviewer, with very impolite and rude manner. When you were delivering your answer or introducing your past experience, he just did his business on his computer without listening! Even worse, he suddenly interrupted you and judged what you've said and your past project, without knowing the context. (because he was not focused on you but his computer screen!)
Overall, the interview is not too difficult as long as you have prepared your resume well. The are looking for experienced engineers, so questions tend to be wide and not focused on a specific area. But remember, when you are interviewed by someone, you interview him/them as well -- they may be your future colleagues. In my case, I feel some (maybe just a fraction) engineers at LINE are too arrogant and complacent, which may be a warning when you need to cooperate with them.
