Labcorp Trainee Cellular Pathology Scientist interview questions

Applied online to an assortment of Covance positions, received an email inviting me to a phone interview for the Trainee cellular pathology scientist position a few weeks later. Didn't get any further, they wanted someone with more in common with the opening, which I thought was an odd thing to say, it was a position with no experience required and my 1st class degree wasn't even an essential criteria. Perhaps telling them I had previously wanted to do a PhD put them off.
