Interview
Phone call vetting interview is first and then a scheduled in-person interview. After the 1:1 interview, the hiring manager had me stay to "shadow" current sales consultants for an hour. The only person that was helpful was new herself. The others weren't very friendly and even seemed a bit annoyed I was there listening in and asking questions. There was no actual shadowing or direction provided. I did learn there system for sales is a very unorganized round-robin approach meaning all leads/client upsells are shared which leads to difficulty in capturing sales needed to meet quotas. For example, while I was there one sales consultant sold an existing client out of a program that was sold by another sales consultant who wasn't there that day and was trying to decide if the commission should be 100% hers or if she should split it with the original sales consultant. This kind of round-robin lead/client sharing leads to sales swiping, confusion around sales and commissions ownership, mistrust amongst sales consultants, and decline in both team comradery and support. I chose not to take the position for this reason and because the environment amongst existing sales consultants was not friendly.

They have a national sales recruiter who does phone screenings. Makes you feel like it's a real position but it's not. They sale you on the dream of 100k but that is not realistic because they only set the location directors up for success. You are a back office assistant.
