I was contacted because my resumé was in my school's database (I was a college junior at the time). They do a lot of recruiting from the Claremont Colleges and the UCs in southern california. I did a quick phone screen and an on-site interview. I got an offer the next day! The primary intern coordinator, Barry, is wonderful.
