      New Grad RN Residency Interview

      Jul 11, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Fort Myers, FL
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lee Health (Fort Myers, FL) in May 2025

      Interview

The interview process was very drawn out. You have to meet with an RDS member and they typically don’t tell you all of the job positions that are open. You have to already have connections if it’s a specialty unit. When you get an interview on the floor, and try to negotiate your pay they will immediately shut you down. They start you out at $31.14 an hour on day shift. That’s not enough to make a living wage.

      Question 1

Scenario based questions. They asked me questions based on a scale. They ask if someone called on the phone asking to get information on the patient what would be your response?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Lee Health (Fort Myers, FL) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Interview process was fairly straight forward. First I had a phone call interview with a recruiter. The recruiter was late to the interview, thus cutting into my interview time. When I submitted an application it was for the interest area of the ER. The recruiter let me know that they didn't have that available, but set up a second interview with the PCU instead. After I interviewed with the PCU interim director, the recruiter called back to offer the job. At this time, I was still finishing my nursing program so I was not yet licensed. They were unable to tell me anything about salary, benefits, or relocation assistance pre-license, so I was unable to accept the job. I followed back up with an email to the recruiter stating that I decided to decline the job offer. They wouldn't take no for an answer. Since then, I have gotten multiple texts and calls from them asking about my licensure and phone calls from the hospital asking me to come into work (even though I do not work there and have never signed any offers). Lee Health was initially my top choice, but I would not work there based on my experience with the interview/hiring process.
