I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Middlesbrough, England) in Oct 2015
Interview
Interview process was extremely friendly and welcoming. First stage interview is at a certain location and they show you a PowerPoint and ask you questions then you have a small interview to match your suitability. If successful you'll be invited to the store you applied for, for an interview and a work trial then if you are successful again you will be contacted via telephone and a welcome pack will be sent in the post for you to attend the welcome event, transport reimbursed. I really enjoyed the recruitment stage, looking forward to starting work myself!
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
