      Product Manager Interview

      Jan 3, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Edmond, OK
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Life.Church (Edmond, OK) in Nov 2020

      Interview

For Life.Church, there are 2 main types of interviews, namely those for Central roles (those that help the whole church) and Location/Ministry roles (ones specific to a Campus). My role is at Central and it had 4 steps. 1. Phone screening: about a 30 min conversation that covered general things, including what my salary expectations were. 2. Phone call: I was remote when I applied, so I got a phone call instead of an in person visit. Again, this was 30 min and was more specific to my history, calling, and expectations moving forward. 3. Skills Assessment: A series of like 5 different kinds of tests from personality to problem solving, etc. This also comes with a debrief conversation. The main point is to know yourself and share about who you are. 4. Final interview: Mine was over Zoom cause of COVID. It was 2 45-min sessions with my spouse. Questions were about my work history, calling, marriage relationship, product questions, etc. 5. A video call job offer: Later that day I got a video call offering me the the job. They also asked my wife what her resume was because they were interested in her working at Life.Church as well.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Since you have not been a Product Manager before, what relevant experiences do you have? How would you describe your relationship with Jesus? Since this role is located at Central, are you willing to relocate? What has been a struggle in your marriage? (To my spouse) How does your spouse respond to stress?

The process was lengthy. It started with a video interview, then a phone interview one test round where they give you an assignment then we have a DB session on assignment after that they give your skills test and then another debrief round on the skills test and then a final interview where they find you in person

      Question 1

They ask a lot of questions. Most of it is about your spiritual journey and then how you think and solve problems. They really want to see how you have a design thinking mindset, and how you have stakeholder communication

      Interview

Not difficult but thorough and they really test you. If you show any signs of struggling with your faith they’ll cut it off. Things like that. Many rounds of interviews. It’s definitely not what I expected because it was a job that was highly applied to. I definitely got grillec

      Application

      I interviewed at Life.Church

      Interview

The position was listed as fully remote, and in the initial application requested required salary. After a 45 minute long interview, the recruiter ends with, "Oh, by the way, this position is actually in person in OKC and the salary is half of what you're requesting." She then started dropping a lot of Jesus talk for why their dishonesty was actually my problem for not having enough faith after they misrepresented the position and wasted my time.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

So, we're going to pay you half of what you're requesting and you'll have to move two states away for a position that we advertised as remote. That's okay, right?
