The experience from the first email exchanges with the team to the interview itself was disappointing and I sincerely hope it is not an indicator of what to expect from the entire organization. I received an email from someone on their product team requesting an interview rather quickly after I applied. This email was exceedingly rude and unprofessional; no salutation or signature in this first communication! Just 'can you zoom on [this day]?' I can't imagine what the emails must look like when you are an employee here because even at this stage, it already felt like an urgent senseless meeting request. Not a great way to start a working relationship. I was a little hesitant going into the interview after reading about the negative interview experiences others had for this particular role. And any interest I had working here promptly evaporated upon interacting with the team. It is clear they just do not know what they are looking for or how to hire for a UX role. What was even more concerning is getting the sense in the interview that there were very conflicting ideas from the team about the role itself. Taking overflow UI work from another team member is a very different motivation for hiring someone vs. develop a piece of software they use for internal clients into a robust product that could be sold and used apart from their consulting packages. I really don't know how this company can be as successful as it claims to be, since empathy, respect, and building trust is critical in professional environments, especially when it comes to management consulting. And I found none of these characteristics in the hiring process. Beware of this company for a UX role.
