Interview
After spending all of my career in one sect of marketing, I applied for an entry-level, contract, Marketing Associate position at LinkedIn to build skills in new areas.
After submitting my resume, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. It was clear that the interviewer was more nervous and less experienced than me but we made it through without any issue. A week later, she sent me an email to let me know they prefer to hire someone who is "early in their career". This was the first time ever that I felt discriminated against due to my age/work experience. This really did not sit well with me.
I've always held LinkedIn in high regard but this experience left me feeling very disappointed.
