I was referred to this opportunity by current employees in the Business Operations team. A few weeks after my application was submitted, a recruiter contacted me to kick start the process with the first-round interview.
The interview structure is entirely based on a consulting-styled case study. The most practical approach to prepare is to use consulting case materials offered by McKinsey, BCG, and Bain. My interview lasted approximately 70 minutes:
1) 10 minutes of self-introductions from both a candidate and an interviewer
2) 45 minutes of consulting-styled case interview
3) 15 minutes of final Q&A and performance-feedback discussions
Personally, I found the content of the case study very interesting, yet also challenging to tackle on the spot. Fortunately, my interviewer was very nice and understanding. I have interviewed at several other tech companies prior to BizOps at LinkedIn, and I can say that this interviewer is, by far, the nicest one. She understood that I did not directly come from a strategy consulting job function, rather I came from a quantitative finance background, so she helped guided me through certain parts of the case. I could tell that she wanted me to perform well. During the Q&A session, she also provided me with very detailed feedback regarding my performance, which I really appreciated. To my experience, no other interviewers at other tech companies usually cared enough to provide thoughtful feedback.
