Initial phone screen with recruiter to guage interest, skills, and culture fit. Second interview was a two-person panel with the team manager and one of the senior team members.
After the two-person panel, I had a call with a different recruiter who apparently took over the hiring process. She briefed me on what the next step would be and gave me details and examples of what people in each part of the four-session panel interview might ask, which I thought was really strange. It later turned out that the information she provided was partially incorrect, and I'm not sure whether she was purposefully trying to mislead me or did not understand the process for the role.
The next step, and final for me, was a four-session interview, most of which were with two team members, where each phase targeted a different aspect of the role. One was related to malware analysis and reverse engineering, another was quickly writing a short (<250 word) intelligence assessment & attribution on a prompted real-world adversary campaign, the third was a cultural/personality fit, and the final gauged analytical skills through scenarios for various open-ended questions.
I actually really enjoyed the whole interview process and all of the team members who conducted the interviews; however, the recruiter completely ghosted me aftwards which is totally unprofessional and I think speaks volumes about the company. I followed-up twice with the recruiter and they never responded. At least have the decency to tell me you're not moving forward.
