The initial interview process started out fine, but from there, it moved into what was a complete disaster due to the negligence and uncoordinated efforts.
The majority of people I interviewed with were professional, friendly communicated clearly. Unfortunately, the last woman I interviewed with was completely unorganized, and scattered. It was clear she was spread way too thin leading multiple departments that she managed. She explained that she was just recently put in charge of the department which I was interviewing to be part of. She mentioned she was unaware of what stage my interview was at, and that my resume had just recently found its way in front of her. She then proceeded to pose questions to me in a tone that felt as if the conversation wasn’t worth her time.
Prior to this last remaining conversation It had already been communicated to me that I was the sole selected candidate, and that Littelfuse was moving ahead with me to fill the position. My background and reference checks had all gone through perfectly, along with the skills and personality tests. At this point, I was awaiting an offer. Instead of an offer, I was called by HR where they notified me that they collectively decided to alter/add a qualification to the job at the last moment. This deal-breaking addition was something that wasn’t included initially.
I’ve never experienced such a lack of carelessness. During the call with HR where they were explaining the bad news and change of the job qualification, they had also asked me to hold out for a couple of weeks to see if they find another candidate, because if they didn’t, there may be a possibility I could still get the position which I found odd and somewhat confusing.
They ended up finding another candidate with their newly added qualification, and I received what was basically an additional rejection call.
Ridiculous and unprofessional.
