Interview
I went through 8 rounds of interviews for a position that was clearly not senior or high level, I was told at the start that the process would involve 4 to 5 rounds. Each time I thought it was over, another interview was added. At one point, I was asked to meet with the VP, which made no sense given the level of the role.
Later, I found out someone in my network had the exact same experience with this company for a different role. So it’s not an isolated case, this seems to be a pattern.
I do appreciate that the recruiter called me personally to let me know I didn’t get the job, but after everything, it felt too late. The entire process felt inconsiderate and drawn out for no justifiable reason.
The managers involved in the process need to be better at making decisions. Dragging things out like this shows a lack of clarity and respect for candidates’ time. It’s frustrating and unprofessional, especially in such a tough job market where people are doing everything they can to find meaningful work.
Respect candidates time. Improve internal decision making. Streamline your hiring process and make sure the number of interviews matches the scope of the role.

The interview was extremely short, barely asked me any questions, one of the interviewers joined the call late, camera off, and was driving. They were extremely kind but not a typical interview.
