Interviewing with the engineers and senior management on the team was pleasant, the questions were relevant and the conversations were enlightening. The interview segments with the founders was entirely different.
They were more interested in making the candidate squirm by demanding off-the-cuff solutions to problems they've spent extensive time researching. They also spent a fourth of the interview on an exercise in product design, which seemed a little outside the concentration of software engineering. Little emphasis was spent learning about the actual experience of the candidate.
