I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in Dec 2008
Interview
Initial interview asking what I was interested in doing, my previous experience and work life etc. Given some idea of the hiring and orientation process. About a week later I interviewed with a different person from the same company with questions along the same lines. About three or four days after that I met for the third time with the store manager and he informed me of what was available, asked me what I would like, why I was interested in leaving my current employer and offered me a job. I felt Lowe's ran a very professional interview process and for the most part I knew what to expect from them. As this was a store just being built we had to travel between 45-55 miles to train in other stores. It was a time that bonded many of us and was a truly unique experience. We worked the mass receiving and stocking of our store and probably about 60 to 70 percent of the original hires, including myself, are still employed with the company.

Interview
Rather easy interview process. There were only a handful of questions that were pretty standard for a retail position. When the interview was scheduled, I was told it was one person, but ended up being another person conducting the interview, which wasn't a big deal, but when you go in to the place it's nice to ask for the correct person.
