I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Brick, NJ) in Jun 2012
Interview
I was interviewed by the store manager, with the Human Resources Manager present. I displayed my portfolio of architectural, and kitchen and bath home imporvements. I was excited to be offered the position within a month's time, as I had been interviewing for the same position with Lowe's for over a year. I was offered the position, on the phone, for almost half the advertised salary. I accepted the offered, out of sheer desapartion.

Question 1
At the request of the store manger, actually explaining how I would sell someone kitchen cabinets, using cabinetry in the meeting room (which were not kitchen cabinets) as an example for finish, construction, quality, value, etc.
Was all about who you knew in the company to get the position. There was a lot of external candidates considered before internals. Was not a very structured interview process, they already knew who they wanted.

I applied online as an internal candidate, several days after I applied I received and email to set up a pre interview phone conversation. The call can last up to 30 minutes however since I am a cabinet specialist and know the position and I have worked for Lowes for nearly 20 years, the conversation was short. Lasting only about 7 minutes with the reviewer asking if I had any questions.
