I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (North Palm Beach, FL) in Aug 2015
Interview
My first and only interview with Lowes took place in one of the back rooms of the store. There was really no way I could have prepared for an interview as interesting as this one. In fact, I've never in my field of work ever encountered an interview process as challenging as this. It was just me, and 3 Lowes employees dressed in their Lowes vests asking me about a dozen or more hypothetical questions that I had to answer off the top of my head as they frantically wrote down everything I said. Hmmm... And I wonder how accurately? Since this position was for an interior design position I brought my portfolio. They had no interest in that. In fact they had no interest in my experience or education or even who I was! It was about " answering their questions accurately "!!! So no I did not get the job... And maybe for the best!

They asked me how I would have handled a particular situation ....
Was all about who you knew in the company to get the position. There was a lot of external candidates considered before internals. Was not a very structured interview process, they already knew who they wanted.

I applied online. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Charleston, SC) in Apr 2017
Interview
I applied online as an internal candidate, several days after I applied I received and email to set up a pre interview phone conversation. The call can last up to 30 minutes however since I am a cabinet specialist and know the position and I have worked for Lowes for nearly 20 years, the conversation was short. Lasting only about 7 minutes with the reviewer asking if I had any questions.
