      Store Manager Interview

      Jul 25, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lucky Brand in Jun 2013

      Interview

My first interview was a one on one with the DM. It was typical interview screening questions about my background and qualifications. I was given homework to secret shop a Lucky Brand store locally and to report my experience to the RM for my 2nd interview. She asked about my overall experience during the secret shop and what could be improved. She also asked very typical management interview questions that you can expect. Lastly, was the Lucky Impression in which I had to role play as a sales associate while the DM was the customer in an actual store. I also had to role play a manager coaching an associate.

      Question 1

The Lucky Impression was not what I expected. I am a terrible actress and was not prepared to role play at the time.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Lucky Brand (Collingswood, NJ) in Jul 2017

      Interview

A former coworker of mine told me that there would be an opening for store manager at one of the outlet locations. I sent over my resume to him and he forwarded it to his DM. Later I was told to call another store manager for a phone interview . I answered all the questions and scenarios with confidence. I later was contacted by the Dm by email and set up a store interview. I drove over an hour to interview with the Dm. I was asked to pull outfits and to also give a timeline of work experience and examples of coaching. The interview went well and I was told that I would have a phone interview with HR and the VP of stores. After 2 weeks I was contacted again and they set me up with a specific time and date it would take place. I was asked to give examples of times that I had to coach an employee and review. I also covered work experience and a timeline like the previous interview. I gave plenty of examples and accomplishments. I have 12 years sales experience and have traveled to tons of locations and felt that I was definable qualified for the position. After the inter view I was told that I would be contacted by the Dm with a follow up in a few days. I wasn't contacted till a week and half later and was told they were continuing the interview process and they would reach a decision in 4 days. I was never contacted back after over almost a month and a half of interviews and emails back and forth. Overall there was no organization with interviews and horrible communication. I was talked out of applying from a lower volume store to apply for a further away store because they couldn't match my pay. In the future the company shouldn't post for manager jobs when they know they are going to promote with in the organization.
