I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at M&T Bank (Buffalo, NY)
Interview
First round was on campus, where you were asked to pick 3 roles from 50 departments they are hiring for, and then twenty minutes of the interviewer repeating "we want to be the best palce to work". They flew me into Buffalo for the second and final round, put me in a hotel that is very representative of the state of M&T Bank--ancient and unpleasant. I had to uber between three different locations for the final round, one of which is in a half-furnished building called Larkin where it took me half an hour to find M&T Bank's office among the lack of signs and alternating furnished and unfurnished maze of a building. The interviewers were either very unfriendly or late, and they did not respond back ever again. The fact that they are hiring a large number of college grads should be a good indicator of the inconceivable turnover at this place. I heard about an ambitious program to establish a tech department and hire 1,000 people over the next three years--good luck with that, there were two young graduates sitting in what looked like a tech support department. That is the state of their "technology" Even if they do manage this expansion, their business model is still too far behind.
The Standard Behavioral/Experience Questions. Want to see you’re involved and motivated on campus. Study up on your resume and you will be okay. GPA of 3.0 at minimum for most positions. Rotation of experience.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at M&T Bank (Buffalo, NY)
Interview
Literally a terrible interview process. Applied online and was emailed by a recruiter there to set up an interview. Literally the most uninterested employee who seemed so mad. Asked zero relevant questions to the job, and halfway through realized she was asking me questions for a different role. It’s all behavioral and situational stuff but just a terrible interview, recruiter obviously didn’t want to be there.
