I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MJHS (Brooklyn, NY) in Sep 2019
Interview
Woman doing interview looked me up and down with disgust prior to starting interview. No, I wasn't imagining that. She really did and I was taken aback because I NEVER had that happen before in an interview. Turned me off immediately. She was also 5 minutes late. If I were late, it wouldn't look good.
Asked standard nursing interview questions but didn't ask me if I had any questions. I did have some questions prepared. Kept looking at me disgusted during our interview. I was dressed appropriately for an interview and I'm sure I didn't stink. I don't think she realized she was doing this.
She then told me to wait for the department manager but he wasn't available. She said he'll call me if he's interested.
At this point I really don't want the job or even a 2nd interview.
If this company bases hiring decisions on appearance instead of skills/qualifications, I don't want to work for them. It's a shame because I always thought this company was really great. But the one HR lady just really turned me off to this entire company. If you're impressed enough by my resume to call me for an interview, why should how I look matter?
An interview is a 2 way...not only is the company interviewing me, but I'm also interviewing them to see if I would be a good fit for them.
