I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MUFG (Tempe, AZ) in Sep 2020
Interview
One of the worst and most frustrating interview experiences I have had, so much so that I felt like writing a review advising others to stay away from this firm.
Three things I would describe and elaborate about the interview process:
1. Extremely slow and required constant follow up: The interviews were hardly 30 min long and setting up each interview required me to follow up at least 2-3 times. It took a month to get through these extremely short, almost pointless interviews over the phone.
2. Extremely pointless questions being asked: The type of questions or even the interview format was on such a basic level, almost as if they weren't interested in hiring from the first day itself. No pressing questions were ever asked to check on the coding skills or even the basic data structures. Meanwhile, the "feedback" being returned was positive and apparently I was getting through to the next rounds pretty easily.
3. The interviewer for the final round was late for the interview and never even properly joined over the webex for the interview.
Seems like the interviewer was in a rush to finish up the interview.
Apparently, they are going to reject you based on your answers to a question like "Tell me about a challenge you faced in your project".
If that's the only criteria you have as your "deciding" factor to hire a software engineer, then this place definitely doesn't deserve good software engineers.
4. If you are constantly informing me that there has been a positive feedback so far until the last round, while constantly asking me about my interview feedback so far, the candidate deserves to know what went wrong in the interview process.
So the gist is, avoid interviewing for them if you don't want to waste your precious time.
