I met with talent acquisition via video call to discuss my background and the basics of the role. From there, the interview process consisted of three 1:1 interviews: 1 with the hiring manager and 2 peer interviews with other members of the team. I also had to complete a 2-hour test in excel.
Early the following week after my final interview, I was contacted by talent acquisition who asked if the hiring manager had called to give a verbal offer for the role and that they would be extending a written offer the following day. I was caught by surprise because I never received a verbal offer and this seemed odd so I replied. She then responded asking me what my salary requirements were. I was again caught off guard because this was discussed on our first call and if compensation was not aligned, I would not have gone through that whole process. After responding to her with the salary requirements, I was ghosted. She never sent me an offer the next day and didn’t respond to any communication. After a few days I decided to reach out to the hiring manager to get an update. She responded right away stating they were interviewing more candidates so I needed to wait an additional 2 weeks for a decision and to let her know if anything changed on my end. Clearly I knew I was not getting the job but was very confused as to what had happened. Two weeks later, I received a generic “thanks, but no thanks” email from Mynd letting me know I was not being offered the role.
I’m guessing there was some sort of mistake on the recruiter’s end, but that should have been owned by Mynd. Someone should have reached out to me directly to apologize for the unprofessional mistake and explain what had happened. I would have understood that mistakes happen but how they handled it was very rude. It was overall, a terrible candidate experience.
