I applied through snagajob and got an email to choose my interview date. I was very nervous as this was my very first interview for a job ever, but it turned out to be simple. Went to the administrative offices and no one was there, so I went and looked for someone, told them what I was there for and waited at the chairs outside. Then came a lady and took me inside an office and asked simple questions like "Why do you think Macy's would be a good job for you?" "If you caught your coworker, who is your friend, stealing, what would you do?" "Do you have a specific example of an excellent customer service experience?" For this last one, I had already told her I had no experience at all, so here, I reminded her but told her I had been involved in community service and other high school clubs where I had some experiences with customer service. She seemed very impressed with that so I continued and gave her a specific example. I emphasized how I managed to turn a problematic situation with a customer into a learning experience by applying outstanding customer service. After this, she explained to me how there were no part time (for what I had applied) positions open, but that since she thought I was well qualified, she was offering me an on-call position. I accepted and scheduled my training date.
