I saw an ad online that Macy's was hiring for the holiday season. It was just a temporary position, ending in the middle of January, but I applied anyway. I filled out an application online which asked about my availability and past work experience. I received an email two days later with an offer to schedule an interview. There were interview slots open the next Monday and Wednesday anywhere from 10am to 1pm. I chose an 11am interview. After confirming my selection I was given directions on how to get to the interview location.
The interview was held in a small office in the Executive offices area which was a little tricky to find. This was a face to face, one on one interview with the department manager. The manager gave me a description of the job and made sure it's what I expected. The following questions were then asked off of a script: Tell me about yourself, Why Macy's, Give an example of a time when you saw a co-worker doing something unethical and how did you handle it, Give an example of a time when you worked on a team and someone wasn't pulling their weight (how did you handle it), Give an example of when you have been assigned individual work (and how did you handle it). After answering these questions the manager then went to see if there were any open positions. I was offered a couple of different positions and was able to choose the one I wanted!
