I applied online and they sent me an email the next day to schedule an interview. I scheduled my interview through their online scheduling system. I walked in about 15 minutes early to my interview. I ended up sitting there for about 30 minutes cause the interviewer was late. He was very awkward. He asked me why macy's and also asked me how I felt about retail. After every answer I provided though he just sat there as if he was expecting me to say something more. Anyways, he asked about my current job ( I work at target) and asked if I was going to stay. I said I was and he then told me he couldn't offer me a position unless I was willing to quit because target was their competitor. However, if I quit he was more than willing. He claimed he doesn't want me telling Target all of Macy's secrets.....yeah...so long story short, depending on which Macy's you apply to, they may not hire you if you work for another retail chain.
Wish he would've told me this before the whole interview!

Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.
The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
