I just applied online and received an email a few days later asking me to schedule an interview. I came in a week or two later and met with one of the HR people. It wasn't too formal and we had some small talk. The questions were typical, such as "Why do you want to work at Macy's?" and "How would you sell a Macy's card?" After that, I met with the store manager and he asked me similar questions and my availability. My main tip is to be friendly, polite, and outgoing. They love people with a lot of energy, even if you don't have retail experience. I only worked a barista job before this one and they hired me on the spot.
