I applied online and got an email the next day instructing me to set up an interview time. I did so and went a few weeks later. Got there early, and was interviewed by one of the managers. I was asked as follows: • Why MACYs? • Tell me about a time when you worked in a changing environment. • Tell me about a time you had to work as a team to reach a goal. What was your experience? • Say a lady walks in looking for a pair of pants? How would you approach her? How would you try to help her find what she's looking for? • If that lady bought a pair of pants, how would you try to upgrade the sale so it's a larger purchase? • How you would sell a Macy's card to a customer? • How would you celebrate a sell with a customer? After the questions were done, the manager proceeded to tell me that the only position open was in sales–––the only position I happened to be unqualified in, since I don't know anything about make-up. He said he would keep me on file in case a position opened up, but the next day I received an email telling me that they couldn't offer me a position.
