I applied online, as everyone else, and got an email about a week later inviting me to interview. As others have said, it allowed me to schedule my own interview time out of their available times. The email also gave detailed directions about how to get to the interview location from the Macy's store. I only had to wait a couple extra minutes until a manager came out to interview me. He was incredibly nice and personable, and definitely made me feel at ease about the whole thing. The interview process lasted about twenty minutes. He then asked me to go back in the waiting room for a few minutes. He came back and told me that he was going to "bench my application" while he did more interviews, but that he thought there were positions available that I would "excel at." He then called me later that day to offer me the job. Let me tell you, I'm nineteen years old and have pretty much no job experience, and they still hired me. It pretty much all had to do with the way I presented myself. Be confident, happy, and articulate. Emphasize how much you want to work specifically for Macy's, and highlight any experience you have working on a team. Talk about how much fun it is to help people find clothes. Those are the answers they're looking for, and is what will land you the job.
