I had just recently discovered the website snagajob.com and began looking for job openings there. I found a job opening for a part-time sale associate at Macy's in downtown Boston. I had no retail experience but I was hoping to gain some. I decided to fill out and submit an application for the position at Macy's on Sunday, July 7th. The next day, July 8th, I received an email saying that "we are interested in meeting with you to further discuss employment opportunities. We would like to invite you to schedule yourself for an interview". There was a link in the email that took me directly to the Scheduling Center, where I was able to review available times, schedule my interview, and read important interview details and instructions. I like to do things sooner than later and I had been looking for a part-time job for a little over a month and wanted a new job really bad so I scheduled my first interview for Wednesday, July 10th. I wanted to have some time to prepare but I also wanted to speed up the chance of me possibly getting employed, this day allowed me to have the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday to prepare for my interview. I went to my first on Wednesday, July 10th, and I did wonderful because I was told to come in the next day (today, July 11th) for a second interview with the manager. The person who originally interview me during my first interview wanted to get me an interview with the manager of the department I was going to work in right then and there but the manager couldn't be found so I was told to come back the next day. I went in for my second interview today and met with the manager of the department in which I was looking to work in and within 10 mins or so I was offered the sales associate position. The manager was so kind and she stressed team work the most and the fact that I would have multiple responsibilities in the department. I think the fact that I enjoy helping people, my prior intern/work experience in a major hospital (costant changing environment), and my availability is what made her offer me the position. After being offered the position and accepting it, I was taken to the front desk where a woman gave me some paper work to fill out (to put me into the system), signed me up for orientation, and gave me some information in a packet, all in which she explained of course. I am beyond happy about my new job position and I am looking forward to starting work at Macy's. I have orientation next week and I think I will begin working shortly after that :)
