I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Detroit, MI) in Dec 2020
Interview
Awful. Was called multiple times from a blocked phone number asking for a phone screen. When I returned the phone call I spoke to someone whose English was very hard to understand. I had to repeat the answer to each question several times and the interviewer had to repeatedly ask me what was said when going over her notes or ask me for a definition of a word. Absolutely demeaning and terrible process. It did not make me feel like there would be any personal investment from the store or company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a positive experience with customer service (I think that was it? - interview was very hard to understand).
Phone screen with recruiter, interview with hiring manager, panel with two members of the team. This was followed by an offer via phone from the recruiter. Very present and easy to follow
Very thorough but mostly digital and on a computer software. You get a set of questions on how you would deal with certain situations concerning customers and also safety concerns.
