I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Indianapolis, IN) in May 2013
Interview
I got both an e-mail and a call to alert me that I had the interview with detailed instructions on who I was to get a hold of and how. The interview process was very relaxed, the interviewer was very professional and chatted a bit to ease me into the questions (I was very nervous, she was very understanding). I was read several questions about myself, my strengths and work experience. I was also asked how I would respond in certain bizarre (but very... retail-y) scenarios that actually came up in the workplace later.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you celebrate the purchase? I know it sounds weird but I was asked several questions like this that are hard to answer because when you react normally its so organic you don't think about it. You're sort of like, "Wait. How DO I react to that?"
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Orlando, FL)
Interview
Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.
I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Pittsburgh, PA)
Interview
Basic interview process. Applied online and was called in for an interview about a week later. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. No assessments needed. I talked about 2 managers.
I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (New York, NY)
Interview
It was in person and lasted 20 minutes approximately. Before the int started I was asked to fill out a questionnaire. The question inclu questions about my education and prior retail sales jobs.
