Recruiters are used to reach out to potential candidates. Unfortunately, recruiters are not very aware of the responsibilities of the job being offered. First interview is with a senior level employee who will go over your experience and the basic job responsibilities. Although the job title was for a Senior position, that is not where you begin. The “senior” title is simply because of your years of experience in the field, but is not indicative of where you land in their hierarchy.
