I was contacted by a recruiter. The first step was a 30 minute phone interview, followed by an in-person interview. When I was recruited I was asked to send in a copy of my resume and a link to my portfolio. During the phone interview, we discussed the work that was in my portfolio as well as some personality type and work environment conversations. It was decided during the phone interview that I seemed to be a good fit for the team and was scheduled to do an in-person interview the next day. I was interviewed by the Hiring Manager as well as the Principal UX Designer. During the in-person interview techniques and my role on past projects were discussed.
