The in-person session consisted of a 2 hour slot that included a 30-minute tour with a project manager, and two back-to-back 45-minute sit down interviews. One of the sit down interviews was with a manager and the other with a director.
Terrible experience during the final sit down interview. I felt the second interviewer (the male interviewer) responded in a sharp, emotional reaction to my sharing about my experience with people management and direct reports. There were also instances where he sneered at me as I spoke, which I did not appreciate in the slightest. This type of behavior is unbecoming in the workplace and frankly unacceptable.
This started as a very enjoyable experience during the tour and first interview, but quickly soured during the second interview session. I did not expect or anticipate to show up and be blatantly disrespected during the second interview by an 15-year McMaster employee. This was a clear indication of their corporate culture and burnout that their most senior employees hold.
