I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Elmhurst, IL) in Jan 2014
Interview
Applied through a university recruiting website. I was initially declined but I then applied again through a different website and received a phone interview a few days later. They seemed really interested in my school rather than me personally. They then asked me to come to their headquarters in Elmhurst, IL. There were 4-5 back-to-back interviews. I though they had all gone fairly well, actually. Surprise, surprise. I received an email two weeks later indicating that I was not chosen. Not sure what their interviewing criteria is, but I guess I didn't figure it out.

Interview
Made it past phone call screening and had a one-on-one chat with a current manager before final round of interviews. Each round was 45 minutes to an hour long and questions were difficult. Have lots of examples ready. Have different answers ready for similar questions.

The interview process was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. I really appreciated that the discussions were fully behavioral, allowing me to naturally draw on my past experiences. Furthermore, the company truly goes out of its way to treat you like a VIP throughout the entire visit, covering a remarkably nice hotel stay and providing a generous stipend to ensure you are completely comfortable.
