      Recruiting Interview

      Jun 23, 2011
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr in Oct 2010

      Interview

Initially the person I spoke to was really nice then she became very rude--for no apparent reason. She was very snobby. One really pathetic question she asked was, "How long were you in college." --despite my resume clearly stating the dates and that I received an advanced degree. Don't waste your time interviewing with them.

      Interview

Very interesting hiring philosophy - They hire for aptitude not necessarily previous experience. Apparently people jump around internally enough that they look for contributions to the overall business when assessing talent.

      Recruiter Interview

      Jun 7, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2019

      Interview

Was reached out to by a recruiter on LinkedIn for an interview for the position. We went through 3 phone calls that were all very positive and informational. Ultimately, about 30 minutes after the last phone call I was sent an email saying they were moving onto other candidates with no other explanation. A bit off putting since all the conversations seemed to go professionally and well. Even though IL is an "at will" state and explanations aren't needed, it's not a great way to go about the process all the same.

      Question 1

What types of roles do you have experience recruiting for and what is your style to do so?
