The recruiter came into the interview process knowing that they were well below my salary requirements, but yet proceeded to give me a very old-school style interview. Why did you leave this company, why did you leave that company, tell me about a time when, tell me about an experience that…. And at the very end discussed with me that they were below my minimum base salary requirement. It was all a gigantic waste of my time and hers. She did say she would run it by the hiring manager to see if they would come up in salary. But I find it’s a better use of my time to meet with companies that fall within my range of compensation requirements. Also this style of interview for an initial interview was very off putting.
