I had applied more than fifty times to different positions and was only selected for an interview 5 times. To summarize: Be patient. Different supervisors look for different things in the applicant. Don't take rejection personally. Was asked to come in for an interview and then a second interview a week later where I was offered the position.

There were multiple rounds of interviews with different levels of managment. Its a long process and because you dont meet with the person you will actually work with until the last round it can be difficult to know if the position is a good fit and if there is chemistry with the faculty member. Everyone is very kind and helpful throughout the process.

As soon as the phone interview process began it was doomed. She had no interest no energy. It’s like I was on the list and it needed to get done. Shame because I would have loved a real shot.
