Grueling, annoying, very extra and unnecessary. You are literally interviewed 3-4 times before being hired and for some people it’s 6 times. A hiring manager once asked me who was my mentor, like what does that have to do with anything?!

There were multiple rounds of interviews with different levels of managment. Its a long process and because you dont meet with the person you will actually work with until the last round it can be difficult to know if the position is a good fit and if there is chemistry with the faculty member. Everyone is very kind and helpful throughout the process.

As soon as the phone interview process began it was doomed. She had no interest no energy. It’s like I was on the list and it needed to get done. Shame because I would have loved a real shot.
