Email conversations then phone interviews with the HR personnel. Then they requested to send transcripts and references and letters of recommendation. After a few week I got my first email for selection process and matching to suitable lab or department. I was provided with a list of mentors and the project proposals. I sent the list back with my preference, which was probably matched with mentors' list of favorable interns. After the process was over, I received another email, announcing my acceptance to the program. Then there was a long list of papers to be filled out, immunization and background checks. Then I was interviewed by the direct supervisor who would be in charge of me.
