It was a very interesting interview process to say the least. The majority of the people I interviewed with seem to lack any non Facebook experience. The questions that I were asked were also very vague and it seemed like there was a pre determined answer and that if you didn’t follow down a similar thinking process then you were rejected. I felt the interview process in general was full of bias. The great thing about companies like Google and Amazon are that they have hiring committees and bar raisers which help reduce this bias and facilitate a proper debrief. Moreover, I asked the recruiter for feedback which she failed to share after I spent multiple hours interviewing with the company. I felt the least she could do was respond to my email and say that she can either share some feedback and if not then communicate that accordingly. There is no need to ignore emails. Anyways my expectations were low coming into the interview process based on the initial phone screen I had for this role. The employee bashed the company and listed out all the negatives which made me question whether I should even continue the interview process. When I asked questions at the onsite on security, trust and privacy to the interviewers they seemed to not understand how to answer these questions, which made me question to whether this is a place I would even want to work at had I received an offer. One last thing I wanted to mention is I noticed that the majority of the employees were in their 20s/30s(Directors/Senior Managers) and it seems like they may have an issue hiring experienced individuals that are older. Prior to this experience I also had a negative experience where it took them two months of informing me that they would like me to come onsite and then ignore all my follow up emails. After two months of doing this they informed me they had a hiring freeze. Recruiters shouldn’t waste people’s time and represent the company in such a negative way. I also wanted to note that this isn’t my first experience interviewing with Facebook either. I had received an offer which I turned down in 2017 because I felt the culture was just all over the place at that time and the role wasn’t the right fit in terms of growth.
