I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in Aug 2023
Interview
I had a very negative experience. It was due to one of the interviewers I ran into during the onsite interview. This interviewer was very aggressive and angry. They yelled at me for not knowing the answer to one of their questions. I don't care if I don't know how to code 1+1, you should treat everyone with respect. I reported this to the recruiting team. I have no confirmation that they reprimanded this engineer. They said they would look into it that's it. I'm fairly certain based off my previous experiences in this industry that this engineer's rage was due to racism. At the end of the interview process I was told I was rejected and given no feedback.
The technical round hit me with a classic array manipulation problem: moving zeroes to the end without disrupting the order of non-zero elements. As I tackled it, I felt a wave of familiarity wash over me; I had just practiced a similar challenge on PracHub. The rest of the interview followed a straightforward path, with some easy behavioral questions sprinkled in. Overall, it felt very easy, but I wasn’t quite the right fit for what they needed, so I didn’t receive an offer.
