I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Micron Technology (Boise, ID) in Jun 2016
Interview
There is a phone screen where no technical questions were asked. It involved mostly describing your PhD work and work at previous employment. Actual Interview was a typical onsite interview that lasts from morning around 10 am to evening around 5pm. It involved technical questions from variety of topics depending on the interviewer ranging from device physics to characterization
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions ranged from the topics - Device physics particularly MOSFETs, CMOS Process Flow, PhD thesis work. Some eg questions were what is GIDL, Explain DRAM operation, Various leakage modes in Finfet, etc.
The interview experience was quite disorganized. The interviewer I met was different from the one indicated in the email, which was confusing. There was also a long waiting time both before and after the interview.
When I asked about the interview process, I did not receive a clear explanation. It eventually turned into two rounds conducted on the same day without prior notice. Overall, the lack of communication and structure gave the impression that candidates’ time was not well respected.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked about my understanding of a few department in PI
The interview process was quite straightforward and not very technical. Most of the questions were based on my resume and past project experience. The interviewer focused on understanding what I have done, how I approached problems, and what I learned. There were also some basic questions about my interest in the semiconductor industry and the role.
From my experience interviewing with Micron Technology, the interview process was very efficient and well organized. The recruitment team responded quickly at each stage and scheduled interviews promptly. Communication was clear throughout the process, and feedback was provided in a timely manner, making the overall experience smooth and professional.
