      Software Engineer Interview

      May 10, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Millennium (New York, NY) in May 2019

      Interview

Found out about the opening and the company thru a recruiter. First was a phone interview with the Head of Data. Next was final on-site interview. I got the regular database and algorithm questions. I was able to answer all of them and had a few minutes to spare. Recruiter also told me the interview went well and they're likely to extend an offer. A few days later, recruiter tells me I would need to meet with the new co-head on-site one more time and this would just be a regular chat. I agreed and I thought it went well. A few days later, got a call from the recruiter. He said the meeting went well but they've decided to look for another team for me. A few weeks passed and I had other offers on the table, so I reached out one more time and nothing. I felt like this was a waste of time.

      Interview

Late night interview (and early morning on the other side) Interviewer seemed really sleepy and unreactive, it felt like a one way conversation from my side. I had to repeat things multiple times and even then not sure if they got it. Maybe its their interviewing platform 🤷 No issues with other companies, so pretty sure its a them problem if so. Ghosted as well. Well not an uncommon occurrence in this market, but adds to the negative experience.

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Millennium (Bengaluru) in Jul 2026

      Interview

Applied on their career portal. Got an email from a recruiter asking me to schedule an initial video interview. I wasn't communicated what kind of interview was this even when asked multiple times. I assumed it's a recruiter screening. When I joined the call, the interviewer seemed highly uninterested. He didn't even introduce himself. Didn't ask me to introduce myself as well. I don't even know if he was an engineer or HR or an EM. He straight away started asking questions about my project. Meanwhile he'd just scroll on his phone while I answer. He'd look at his watch every 2-3 minutes. Most unprofessional interview I've ever faced.
