      Interview

One of the most important items to ensure you do prior to any interview is do your research.. Look up reviews, website, profiles etc... Glassdoor as I would expect had reviews that were both positive and negative but I made the decision to seek and make my own decision of personal view. I would highly recommend everyone do this rather than making pre-assumptions. My recruiter was top-notch. In fact he was highly informative, great attitude, and showed a tremendous partnership with me succeeding. He was one of the best I've actually had the privilege of working with. Like any interview process now, most of it done virtually which was fine, however, what was different here is that everyone I interviewed with informative, highly relatable, personable and professional. The process was highly transparent and efficient. Conclusion: make your own success. Be personable and ask plenty of questions. The interview process is a 2-way street. You should be asking them questions to ensure they can "sell" you the company. Ultimately, Model N succeeded and I couldn't be happier. Thank you!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Overall, it was a 2-way street. Make sure you ask a lot of questions around culture, communication style, leadership, goals - short/long term, trajectory. Model N was again very relatable and professional. The conversation is what you make it!

      Interview

From my first conversation with Dan Park, Model N GTM Sales Recruiter, I knew there was something unique about this company. Dan's open, friendly and genuine interest in my background and professional objectives instantly differentiated him/Model N from other organizations that I had been speaking with previously. Throughout the entire process, he made himself available and was willing to help. He was honest, direct and "real". You instantly knew he wanted to do what is right for the company and the candidate. Dan had me interview with several members of the leadership team . I was completely impressed with each person! At no point did my conversations feel "forced", typical or awkward. There were no off limit questions and instead it was more of conversation in order for me to learn about the company, the culture and the person I would potentially be working with. I also want to highlight, that I believe everyone had a sincere interest in "me" as the candidate. This was a very unique and positive interview experience because of how approachable and authentic they all were. The final and most important part of the interview process was the presentation. It is designed for you to learn more about the company and for them to learn more about how you approach the sales process/presentation. Both Dan and the hiring manager were kind and did a run through with me prior to presenting to the panel. Once again, this showed me that the people are truly collaborative and willing to help each other. Interviewing is never fun but I must say this was an enjoyable and positive experience.

Interviews with 5 different people for 45 minutes each. After investing several hours during this process, I was ghosted. Totally unprofessional and lacking professional courtesy. If they run their interview process this poorly - I feel like I dodged a bullet.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Model N (Ventura, CA) in Oct 2022

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter Dan Park while I was out on sabbatical for my current company. Although I was not in the mind-set at the time to interview, after speaking to Dan and the willingness of Model N to seed candidates a few months out from start date, this sparked my interest and we continued chatting. Dan was methodical, confident about the direction of MN, and overall set the stage nicely for my interaction and interviews with Model N leadership. My interviews were scheduled fairly quickly and flexible with my availability as well. All my interviews with Model N leadership felt very authenticate and were really more of a get to know my personality, background, and approach to work. Given the Regional Sales Manager role is predicated on a strong Account Management and existing customer sales and success background, my conversations with my interviewers in many cases went beyond scheduled time15-30 minutes extra. When I mention the conversations felt authenticate, what I mean and what is important to me at this stage in life, is that I work with real people who don't have to speak tons of non-sense jargon to appease the other person...and this is exactly how the conversations went. We talked real scenarios, real experiences, in unembellished words. Being in a mid-life reset (of sorts), I felt the interviews were refreshing to see there is hope in being able to find employers with a real "authentic" people. Although I will not start until January, this was and still is my impression. I did have to put in some work developing a presentation and although nervous, I was informed MN was making an offer. I did spend a few hours reviewing, reciting the presentation, and structuring the presentation from an existing customer angle. I also spent time on the Model N website trying to absorb as much as possible. All told with interviews from end-to-end including recruiter along with presentation research and prep time, I spent anywhere from 8-10 hours which was all well worth my time.
