      ADR Interview

      Jul 17, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MongoDB

      Interview

Ridiculously slow and top heavy hiring process. 1) recruiter screen 2) informal manager screen 3) formal manager screen (mock call) 4) second line manager screen 5) they recommend talking to others at the company - at least two or three. only one got back to me. but that's more free work. 6) challenge prep/review 7) the 'challenge' - a mock demo call and AE consultation. it does not make sense why they would have a prospective ADR doing AE level work. They offered me a role. But they do not have any leeway for base comp. It's 50k flat. College grad? 50k. 3 years experience? 50k. The recruiter called me and did a very aggressive attempt to 'close' me on the role. But didn't put any of the terms on paper for me to review. I told them I would think about it. I would need a few days. Then a recruiter contacted me and rescinded the offer. The reason I hesitated to take the job was because my research indicated they had a very top heavy micromanaged culture. Also, on RepVue, their churn rate is over 50%. And the quota plans have shifted several times in the past few years. It's a ridiculously overmanaged hiring process that is meant to create buy-in from the candidate and push them into doing lots of free work and people pleasing without being offered any real flexibility or discussion about the role.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

In the behavioral questions, they always framed it as an obviously antagonistic relationship between the ADR and the AE. "How do you build trust with an AE that doesn't work well with ADRs?" "How do you help an AE penetrate an account when they won't make warm intros for you?"

It was Long but informative…. The process contains a few different role plays. You sit down and meet with a few different managers. They walk you through it pretty well
