I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (London, England) in Feb 2011
Interview
1st round (France) 2 1:1 interviews technical questions, brain teasers, CV walk through
"stress interview" (questions fired non stop for 40mn and complete disregard for CV)
conducted by Analysts, very nice and professional.
2nd round (France) 2 1:1 interviews with VP (no technical questions, 1 very easy brainteaser) the interview was more like a conversation:
- what was the last book you read?
- what was the last movie you saw?
Discussion followed.
Also: How do you see yourself in 5 years and why?
Assessment Centre (London)
- 2 1:1 interviews with Executive Directors. Very nice and genuinely interested in hearing "my story"
- why london and not paris?
- what did you REALLY do at your other internships
- individual presentation with MD: be articulate and follow the instructions. They will tell you if you're doing it right (or wrong)
- numeracy tests: be aware of time. very different conditions from those of online testing.
- group case: don't talk too much and listen to what others have to say...
HR people really nice and warm. The day can be very tiring though.
Downer: they take a long time to answer
The interview process was a great experience overall. I enjoyed the conversation and felt it was a strong opportunity to connect my background to the work Morgan Stanley does. There was a HireVue than one one one.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself and how you're a good match.
After submitting the application, they provide the online assessment link to all the people, I guess. After taking the assessment, the applicants who are moving on to the next step will have a Zoom interview with HR and a superday (final), respectively.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly about fit questions. Not a single technical question was asked.
Well organised, informational, and transparent process. After test there was a hirevue, then a telephone interview and then the superday, all of which was completed in about one month. I appreciated their speed and for not dragging out the process.

Question 1
They were interested in my specific interest in Morgan Stanley.
