I received an email about two weeks later showing interest in my application. After responding to that email, I scheduled a phone interview with a local office employee. Prior to the phone interview, they sent me a PDF with multiple initial screening questions which needed to be returned to the recruiter before the phone interview took place. I spent a significant amount of time filling in the details of each question (most of which were questions asking for examples of scenarios in which you've experienced ___).
During the phone interview, I was asked some follow up questions based off of the initial screening questions I answered before. The second half of the phone call I was asked about my preference of hours, salary, and job duties. Once I answered these questions, I was told in more detail all that the position entails and was given the opportunity to ask any follow up questions about the position itself. When I was done with the phone interview, I felt like I knew exactly how a day in the life of an MDA Administrative Assistant would go and felt comfortable knowing that the job would be right for me. They informed me that they needed me to complete an online test to determine my Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word competencies. This screen was mostly basic Office skills with a few questions that are more advanced.
I received another email asking when I would be available to speak with another employee, which turned out to be part of Human Resources. I scheduled the call with her and received all the information I needed in regard to the benefits, PTO, and fringe benefits that MDA offers. They were sure to ask if this is something that I was happy with - along with the position hours and the salary. Once I had all HR related questions answered, I was then told that we would schedule an in-person interview. I gave her my availability and she responded the next day with an interview date, time, location, and who I would be interviewing with.
My in-person interview was with the person I originally had my phone interview with and the executive director of the office. The office address did not match on GPS and even after I drove by (what I thought was the correct address) the night before, I ended up at the wrong place. Thankfully, the correct location was only a few miles away and I still made the interview RIGHT when it was suppose to start. The ladies were very understanding and the although the interview was two to one, I was very comfortable answering their questions and did not feel overwhelmed with the process. They asked many behavioral questions and wanted examples of when I've handled specific situations. They also gave the opportunity to ask any questions I had and informed me of a timeline of when I should hear about their hiring decision.
