Muscular Dystrophy Association interview questions

About 1 week after applying I was asked to complete an online assessment and then I had a phone interview with an HR recruiter. She was very helpful in describing the position and called me a great fit. A week later I had another phone interview with 2 managers from HR (I would be working with them in this role). The interview was very conversational and reviewed the position and had me talk about my experiences. The following week I was brought in for an in person interview. When I arrived, I was informed the person I was meeting first hadn't come in today so I had to wait in the lobby for 15 minutes while they waited for the next person to get out of a meeting. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and again flowed more like a conversation and less like an interview. At the end, I met with the second person I had had a phone interview with because she had forgotten to ask me a question during the phone interview round. I was told I would hear back either way in a week or so. The following Monday, I received an email from a different recruiter at MDA saying she was given my resume after my in person interview because they though I was overqualified and might be better in a Fundraising Coordinator position. So I set up a phone interview for two days later for this new position. This interview went well, but at the very end she realized that the only opening they have is not based in the city I live in. I was then informed that they had gone with someone else already for the original position because they thought I was going to fine with the Fundraising Coordinator position. This process has put me off from this organization. I feel I had a good shot at either position, but was screwed over because of a lack of employee communication.
