The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NVR (Fairfax, VA)
Interview
Most of the people I met during the interview process were pleasant. However, the only male I met (a younger Asian guy) was aggressive and insecure. He appeared to be the only male working in the office and he seemed to be the only one making the hiring decision. The rest of the office is composed of older (twice his age), submissive women who cater to his whims and are only concerned with pleasing him. During the interview, he would respond to my answers with a sneer, a disrespectful tone, or a dismissive comment. He seemed to view his office as a dictatorship and was mainly interested in hiring older female employees who would blindly pander to his inflated ego. Prior to the interview, I was very excited about the position. After the interview, I was completely turned off and could not imagine having to work in that office. My advice to applicants: run, don’t walk, away from this company. My advice to upper level NVR management: you are missing out on a lot of talented applicants. Today’s graduates are thinkers, not blind followers. If you embrace critical thinking skills and innovative thought, your company will thrive. If you continue to hire only people who will cater to the boss’s need for submissive employees who are only able to stroke his ego, you will be surpassed by more innovative companies.

Question 1
Role play a telephone call where you try to sell me something.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at NVR (Beltsville, MD)
Interview
The person who interview me was clear that did not want to be there and not only that but he started the call not even saying hello but criticizing my voicemail, what? Then he answer everything with yes/no, there was no “conversation”. He kept saying this is a very professional company but from his side he was arrogant, passive aggressive, boring, robot like, abrupt, rude, why was he even there? I was so excited to interview and he ruined it. Who hired that person, ridiculous.

Question 1
When I asked him to tell me about the company, he said “go and do research and tell me if this is something you like to do” who is he, to tell me, what I can or can’t do? I didn’t say anything exactly because I wanted to test him to what he would say and he was so arrogant and rude.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NVR in Dec 2023
Interview
Came in from a staffing agency. Met with two on-site managers who were very friendly for an hour. I declined to proceed further after they told me there was toxicity and drama and all the processors were new. Major red flags. You have to be really metric oriented and competitive for this role and it wasn’t a good fit. Be prepared for an hour interview with two managers and then a second hour round immediately after.
